Breast Massage Therapy

Breast Massage Therapy helps maintain healthy breast tissue by encouraging a healthy lymphatic flow to the breasts. When the healthy movement of the lymphatic fluid becomes restricted, whether, from compromised health, surgeries, restrictive clothing such as bras, or bad posture, toxins can accumulate and potentially lead to discomfort, pain, and disease. In those who have had breast surgeries such as mastectomy, augmentation, or reduction, Breast Massage Therapy can restore the range of motion that is often severely restricted.

The Spurgeon Method®  is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB).  This massage technique by Sally Spurgeon, a breast cancer survivor, is designed specifically for women who have undergone breast cancer treatment. It focuses on loosening scar tissue, releasing the tension, and encouraging drainage and swelling reduction. The technique applies light strokes to mimic the pumping action of lymphatic vessels and encourages proper lymph flow.

Breast Massage Therapy sessions are recommended to be scheduled for a minimum of 60 minutes to allow enough time for thorough treatment. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our office.
